Beach Book Festival Update

We’re off to a good start!

As I mentioned in our last blog post, we’re in the running for 5 book competitions.

And the results are in for one of them:

The 2022 Beach Book Festival!

And while we didn’t win the top spot, we did get an Honorable Mention in the Science Fiction category! This places Cargo 3120: Ties that Bind in the top 5 of books received for the entire Sci-Fi category. And that is no small honor.

You can check out the results page, HERE!

This is huge, considering we were a late entry into the competition.

The beach book festival is open to all authors, ranging from those represented by major publishers to independent and self-published authors.

Entries are judged by a panel of industry professionals based on the following criteria:

1) General excellence and the author’s passion for telling a good story.

2) The potential of the work to reach a wider audience.

As authors, we put our heart, sweat, and tears into our writing. Then comes the nerve-wracking process of putting it out there to the world, waiting to see how others will receive your work. With competitions, the pressure is even worse, as your book is being read by industry pros who see great writing on a regular basis.

So, to even get an Honorable Mention is huge for me as a Science Fiction author who is trying to make some small mark in a very competitive genre.

To me, this feels like a first-place win, and I can’t thank the judges at the Beach Book Festival enough for even considering my book, and for the honorable mention!

This is just further validation that we are on the right track and that Cargo 3120: Ties that Bind is a science fiction novel that is not only good, but it is a novel that can reach a wider audience.

Well, that’s one down. I’ll continue to keep you posted throughout this journey.

Be blessed, everyone!
